It’s good advice anytime, to be sure, but somehow his words seem even more pertinent right now. Perhaps it’s because Indian Summer still threatens part of the Midwest (seriously, Mother Nature – my horses are growing winter coats and pumpkin spice everything is back on the market – let’s cool down the temperatures, shall we?) or because I continue to see more and more media coverage of college campuses where student groups are protesting against one another’s opposing viewpoints. Perhaps it’s because of the current political climate in America. Perhaps it’s even to do with the start of the intercollegiate equestrian season and teams bringing out their new rosters for the first time.
