Don't Be Spooked About College!

We've all been there..................

Meet in the Middle

It's that weird in-between time of year.I start the day wearing three layers and end wearing just one. My horse gets covered in his medium weight overnight but needs his blanket taken off in the afternoon. Baseball is still happening but football is in full swing. And my seniors are wrapping up applications while my juniors are starting to do the research which will wind up being their college lists by spring. For parents, it's also that tricky time between underclass parents saying, "We don't understand the process yet but we're eager to learn" and senior parents saying "We hoped we'd understand this by now but we're really freaking out!"Good news: It's all normal. (Apologies to you, panicking parents - all I can say is, we'll be okay in the end. I promise.)The in-between space isn't one any of us usually like to be in, but the good news is that it's usually temporary - a bit of discomfort to endure while we're on our way to whatever (good things) come next. So while we're all riding out this current storm of a moment, we'll simply put on a few more layers (that we'll be out of again in a few hours), check the baseball and football scores at the same time, and seniors can keep plugging away at those college applications so we can pass the workload onto the folks in the admission office.Like fall and sports seasons and the annual application cycle, this too shall pass.

CLIENTS TAKING THE PSAT:Please schedule a meeting after your score report is returned and send me the full report when you receive it.SOPHOMORES & JUNIORS:If you haven't scheduled a fall check in meeting yet, please do so:https://calendly.com/equestriancollegeadvisor

Are college admission offices using AI?

"Fifty percent of higher education admissions offices are currently using AI in their review process, according to a

from Intelligent, an online education magazine aimed at prospective college applicants. Another 7 percent said they would begin using it by the end of the calendar year, and 80 percent said they plan to incorporate it sometime in 2024."

ALSO:

"Sixty percent of admissions professionals said they currently use AI to review personal essays as well. Fifty percent also employ some form of AI chat bot to conduct preliminary interviews with applicants, or to transcribe and analyze candidate interviews with alumni and counselors."

Just starting the college search?

The key to success isn't finding the college with

the highest ranking or the "best" reputation, the

student is to understand yourself so you can find
