The athletic side of equestrian sports are sometimes left to the horses and not their riders. In her tenure as coach of the varsity equestrian team at Dartmouth College, Sally Batton left no stone unturned and created a series of exercises and strategies to make sure her riders were just as fit as their equine counterparts.In 2022, those tips and exercises were published in her book, The Athletic Equestrian.Join Randi and Sally on Monday evening, April 11 to learn about Sally's programs for young riders (and aspiring collegiate athletes) and when they're through, you too will know the "secrets" of athletic equestrians everywhere.About Sally Batton:Batton was the Director of Riding and Varsity Equestrian Head Coach at Dartmouth College in Hanover, NH for twenty-nine years, as well as serving on the Intercollegiate Horse Shows Association Board from 1984-2017. She was the IHSA National Steward from 2001-2017 and was recognized in 2013 with the IHSA Lifetime Achievement Award. In 2019, Batton was honored among the first class inducted into the IHSA Hall of Fame.
