It's not hard to understand why many seniors crash second semester. After months of preparing for the college admissions process, hitting 'submit' on that last college application can feel like collapsing across a huge finish line.

What many students fail to realize, however, is that completing applications isn't the end of the journey - it's just the beginning.

It's true.  Common App accounts created in 2015-2016 will roll over to 2016-2017! This means that juniors can create their account now -- or whenever they are ready -- and it will be available for them in 2016-2017 as seniors.  

There are five important things to know.

For a liberal arts major, the options are endless, no joke. You aren’t tied to one industry or field by nature of your major. Nursing majors are kind of tied to nursing. Education majors are tied to education. But I can’t count the number of liberal arts grads I know who currently work in marketing, education, or government. Many even own their own businesses.

You can be whatever you want to be. And that’s kind of daunting. It has a tendency to paralyze us, leaving many of us stuck in the limbo (didn’t you love that part of Dante’s Inferno?) of those first crappy jobs right out of college.Read More
