Avoid Fraud in the College Application Process

I spoke with a mother last week who reached out in a panic and said, “Oh no! I think I sent you the wrong video clip of my daughter riding – in fact, I don’t think it was even her. She and her friend were both on bay horses at that show and I can’t tell them apart!”
I chuckled and told her to send me the correct video when she had a moment. After all, I’m only evaluating the video clip as part of my client intake process; I’m not a coach looking for my next top recruit. Moreover, in my line of work, it isn’t unusual for parents to send me their students’ materials as we enter the college search process – after all, the parents are the ones responsible for signing the contract with me and sending payment. "Merit aid, sometimes referred to as non-need-based aid, comes into play when colleges, especially those out of the top tier, use funds to attract desirable students. Typically, these students have a stronger academic profile or a specific talent, such as standing out with a particular extracurricular activity."

The hard truth is that college has never been a guarantee in terms of outcome.
While all of the data indicates that college does, in fact, greatly increase a student’s chances of economic and life success, each individual case is ultimately a universe of one, and past data is no guarantee of future results.Read More

Eight students graduated in equestrian studies from the new royal Godolphin Masar institute’s first course in Dubai, at a ceremony on Wednesday.
The nine-month academic training program, held at the Godolphin stables in Dubai, and in the UK and Ireland, taught young Emiratis a variety of academic and practical modules in horse training, racing and management. Read More
