News/Travel:Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College in southern Indiana (they of the "killing time on a layover" video from Instagram that made the rounds after IHSA Nationals a few weeks ago) announced on Tuesday that they will go fully co-educational this coming fall. (Previously, only their graduate programs were co-ed.) This should have little bearing on their strong equine major but will bring a lot of changes to their campus community in a very short period of time!Georgia named a new assistant coach this week and Oklahoma State announced that they still have open slots in their summer camp. Juniors:Here's another piece that examines the upcoming changes to the Common Application.School horses are the backbone of each and every college riding program in the country and this wonderful blog posting pays tribute to school horses near and far. (Dartmouth's magazine also paid tribute to their current mounts in a feature article.)Underclassmen:Sophomores, it's not too early to visit college campuses and you can avoid a lot of stress down the line if you begin your search this summer. (The only disagreement I have with the article is the recommendation to visit two schools in one day. This early in the game, don't do it - you'll only find yourself confusing the two schools down the line.)Parents:Looking for an SAT or ACT tutor? The Seven Questions You Should AskAlso, recent reports show that half of recent college graduates expect to be supported by their families, demonstrating a shift in American culture. The seniors prepare for graduation and their next steps as college students and the underclassmen prepare to step forward and follow in their footsteps. Along the way, the underclassmen will embark on the same college search they’ve just witnessed taking place for with the older students and many people in their lives will want to help them along the way.
