More Visits, College Costs, & What Comes Next

Ah, spring. That magical time of year when the horses shed, the seniors (and their parents) panic, and everyone suddenly realizes that “we should probably crunch the numbers” isn’t a casual suggestion, but a full-contact sport.

Here’s the good news: This month’s edition is here to make that all feel just a little more manageable.

There are some fresh visit and camp opportunities on the calendar. (Road trip, anyone?) As we know, sometimes clarity doesn’t come from another Google search; it comes from actually setting foot on a campus and thinking… yes, this could work.

For those deep in the financial aid labyrinth: my condolences. Also, Niche has created a new tool that can help bring some structure to the process.

And finally, if you need a reset and a reminder of why any of this matters in the first place, the replay of my Future Proof Riders conversation with founder McKrell Baier is waiting for you. It’s equal parts perspective, strategy, and quiet reassurance that there is, in fact, more than one way to build a life in and around this sport.

So, take a breath. Open the windows. Spring is for forward motion—even if it’s just one thoughtful step at a time.

New Opportunities

Dressage4Kids is excited to offer the Summer Intensive Training (SIT) Program to provide an overall educational program for riders under age 26.  SIT is not for the casual dressage rider, but for aspiring young riders who are committed to achieving excellence. This program will take determination, drive and passion.  The participants will have a full schedule of learning that includes fitness, theory, tests, riding lessons, and lectures on many pertinent subjects.  We encourage young riders of all levels and ages - some riders may be barely Training Level while others may be schooling Grand Prix.  

Location: Hampton Green Farm in Fruitport, Michigan 

Dates: July 2-29, 2026 with options to extend dates
