 SENIORS:FINAL REMINDER - Let me know where you enroll this fall.  I've heard from most - but not all - of you. JUNIORS:You know how I keep telling you that NOW is the time to ask for teacher recommendations?  Here's one more reminder TRAVEL/EVENTS:I've just been scheduled to speak at a very big - and very awesome! - junior equestrian event this summer.  More details when I'm able to share publicly.I'm also confirmed for a visit to Richmond-area colleges in Virginia in October.  Florida schools are pending for November.Parents:College educators and career services staff are starting to "get real" with athletes regarding their career aspirations.  Equestrians aren't grouped in the article, but it's worth a read.And as you plan for summer, save the money on those fancy university programs. From the blog:As you can imagine (given the focus of my educational consulting practice), I speak to many students each year who have a strong interest in going into the field of veterinary medicine after college.  Many are inspired by the work that they see their own vets doing and others want to do everything that they can to help animals in need – both of which are wonderful reasons for considering the field as a potential career down the road.Where I need to caution and counsel these passionate students, however, is in the difference between their dream of being a veterinarian and what the reality of becoming one actually entails.  Often, the two are entirely separate ideas.Read More
